First time the NHLers have been spread out among groups on a non-gameday.

So, Group 1 consists of Top 6 forwards and Top 4 defencemen while Group 2 has the bottom 6 group and bottom pairing D.

I’m a fan of that top six. Mangiapane and Coleman to switch out depending on who developes chemistry. I really have no idea what to expect from Coleman.

Just please be better than Leivo, Simon, Ritchie, any of the scrubs we've substituted in top 6..

Hakstol says the entire Kraken roster is travelling to Alberta. Gio is not in the starting lineup tonight in Edmonton. Crazy as it may seem, there is a chance his first game back in Calgary is a meaningless exhibition game tomorrow. Also possible he sits out both games.

Having guys who never played together at all as a team stick together for the whole preseason is probably necessary for them.

What is the chance Francis can make it on team Canada world junior radar?

Unfortunately as a 2001 birth year he is ineligible to play at the WJC this year.

I think without even being a homer that Francis has a chance to lead the Q in scoring this year.

If you look at the landscape of things and consider teams it's going to be between Cormier, Francis and Bourque.

His birthday is December 1st though so I am not sure if he is eligible for the World juniors.

Its not like Seattle has a ton of extra players around...might play tomorrow

they basically had their opening night roster playing in game 1

That's the report you want to hear about a young guy (Francis). They need to stand out every time they take the ice if they want to be an NHL player. No picking spots, just busting ass at every opportunity so the coaches take notice and want to see more. Good on him.

Tanev with a point in his favour for captaincy. That's example setting. The fact it's rubbing off on Hanifin is even better.

As a guy that's coached Calgary minor hockey for over about a decade and a half I just drool when I hear about free ice like that!

Doesn't even seem real.

My experience is moving nets off the pegs while the Zamboni guy is already on the ice giving you the stink eye.
