WHY WATCH …TO SEE ONE OF THE GREATEST SCORERS OF ALL TIME
And, no, we’re not talking about Elias Lindholm, although three goals in three games tied Sean Monahan’s record for the longest goal streak to start a Flames season. Alex Ovechkin, at 36 years old, cemented his status as one of the game’s best a long time ago, but the fact he remains powerful, effective and can generate offence is impressive. With four goals, four assists in four games this season, he also recently moved into No. 5 on the NHL’s career goals list.

The only morning games we do well are in Philly. Hoping for a close game, but unfortunately I could see this one not going too well for us.

Coming off a solid road win and going into one of the best barns in the league should make for an exciting game. Plus who doesn't like watching Ovi?

Morning game vs the caps normally scares the crud out of me.

But a little less so now that I remember Sutter is running this team.

We routinely have lost that October game vs Washington so let's write a different script this year.

Get these points fellas. Early points matter.
Gotta admit #44 has been good and I'll happily eat my words.

After handing the Red Wings(2-0-1) their first loss in regulation of the season, it's time for the Capitals(3-0-1) to get theirs.

Kuznetsov looks back to his old self, and Ovi is the great 8 for a reason. I hope the Flames can stifle their offense, and stay out of the box.

Is it just me or do we have more morning games versus the caps than any other team?

Too early for my frog buddy to watch but I still think we will win this. Would love to see Looch beat the snot out of Wilson as well.

Someone else commented that #44 plays a lot like a previous wearer of #44! At one point the call was "Gudbranson, around the boards, off the glass and down the ice" and I thought the same thing.

Kjillington isn't very big but he's just playing lights out however the rest of this defense was built exactly to handle a big team like the caps. Ovie's a mittful and their D corps is no slouch either and Carlsons a serious threat.

Let's hope Sutter's possession game keeps working and Markstrom can cope with the deadliest shot in hockey.

As if Wilson would willingly fight someone like that. He might try to drop them with Johnny.

I’d settle with a Gudbranson open ice hit on Wilson

This is the weakest Caps roster I remember seeing in a very long time. That center depth is appalling.

But the Capitals are 3-0-1 for a reason. Can't take them lightly. They are always a tough out for the Flames.

For those outside the Flames region in Canada, this game can be seen on Centre Ice as it is not a national game. It is the only Saturday game of the season that is regionalized.

Sutter is doing what Q is doing to the Panthers as far as coaching goes. I think you can expect a solid effort out of these guys on most nights. Structure and discipline. The talent question is a legitimate one but I'm much less worried about them laying an egg under Sutter.

I'm wanting Ovechkin to get closer to the scoring record so hopefully he scores 5 goals today and the Flames score 6 or more for the victory.

I would've gone with 44-0 for the Flames but you do "you"

Happy Birthday!
