Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2021 - Round 3
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

This will be Pelletier in a landslide but I am really curious where it goes from here.
I can see 10 or so different guys getting votes in the next round.

Wow! I must have been the last guy to select the last round and was happy I woke up in time haha!! Almost forgot; went with Zary last round and Pelletier this round to finish off the top 3 for us. The thought of Pelletier - Zary - Coronato being a line down then road is a fun thought for sure!

One problem I have with Jakob Pelletier, other than his size and position, is that his point totals have hardly progressed/improved since the 2018 season. The goal scoring in particular has declined a a fair amount. His totals aren't really any better than that of Ryan Francis, who is younger and was a 5th round pick. Pelletier looked like a great all-around player during the world juniors, but I can't help but question the upside.
Dustin Wolf, on the other hand, has put up 93.6%, 93.5%, and 94% in the past 3 seasons. There's not much room to possibly improve on those numbers.

I was sort of cold on Pelletier but after seeing him at the WJC I did a complete 180 on him (as has been mentioned here a few times already). I don't know tho, I just find it really hard to gauge prospects from the Q. I'm still mad about Poirier--really thought we had something with him.

We did have something with Emile. Other factors other than hockey ability took him down.

This should be close to 100% Pelletier. I can't imagine a measure where any prospect compares? Draft pedigree? Performance after the fact? Performance on the big stage? But this is Bongoland, so anything is possible.

Pelletier will win easily but there are always a few guys with favourite prospects and/or might just be trolling..
Look no further than Heineman being picked in three straight lol (sorry Regg)
I won’t make assumptions on the basis for picks like that but it obviously comes down to one of those two explanations.
The top 3 was obvious and its likely Wolf takes the next one but it won’t be as clear cut.
It definitely starts to open up here on out.
