Suter's production last year is being blown out of proportion here.

He had 27 points in 55 games playing with the greatest American Born player ever.

Dube had 22 points in 51 games playing all over the lineup.

Is Dube worth $3.25 million?

I don't know if Detroit is trying to get to the floor or what, but this looks like an overpayment.

Yeah. This has buyer beware written all over it for Detroit. I think Suter is about to make the Red Wings look like dummies for wasting $3.25M AAV on this guy.

As had been pointed out, he only averaged 0.5PPG while playing almost all his icetime with #88 for the Blackhawks. He's gonna struggle to do anything significant playing on such a piss poor team even if he plays predominantly with Larkin & Tyler Bertuzzi because they ain't Kane.

He really isn't that good. And it's not a small price for him. It's about $1.5M+ more than he's worth on his own. It's a no good contract.

He's better than Gaetan Haas at least though, I will say that much.

I meant the 2 yrs part. They are not tied to him long term and they have the cap space

A great comparison.

Chicago knew he was going to be, at best, the third line centre. They didn't want to pay that kind of money to get 20 points out of him, since they new his ice time and PP time was going to shrink drastically.
