He was originally drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.

Minor league salary is $375k with $400k guaranteed. Usually indicates that there was significant interest in this guy as a depth player.

On a 2 way contract players earn different salaries depending on which league they play.
If his NHL+AHL earnings are less than $400k at the end of the season, the Flames will top off his payment until he is at $400k thus guaranteed salary.
