I wonder if Dougie Hamilton is gay. I say this with full support and empathy. People say he is awkwardly reserved. A lot of rumblings that he doesn't fit in with the NHL locker room culture. If he is gay, I could see how it would affect his relationships in the locker room and with other players. There will still be in groups and out groups. There are likely a non-zero amount of gay players in the NHL who haven't come out, who face social challenges that we don't know about.
Of course I could be completely wrong, but it's a thought.

I mean it's definitely possible, but at minimum he seems to be an introverted guy. The whole "rather go to a museum" thing was pretty embarrassing as a Flames fan. I know that's not the reason he was traded, but the team should have come out against that caveman bull#### pretty directly.
Personally I think a guy that doesn't fit in with a core that couldn't lead water down a hill is a good thing.
