Calgarypuck Prospect Ranking 2021 - Round 2
Welcome to the annual Calgarypuck Prospect Poll!
As per usual ...
1. Rank the prospects as you like. Upside, chances, or trade value
2. I will try and do one a day which should get us to rookie camp range
3. Graduates and/or runoffs will be determined in each case
4. Please don't complain that the polls are going to deep. We go until all the prospects are ranked, so don't vote if you don't want to.

Zary again.
His stint was just so impressive in the AHL, it says a lot about a guy when he's 18/19 in a men's league, and when he goes back to juniors it leaves a big hole on the teams first line.

Tough decision because I think Pelletier has a higher floor but Zary a higher ceiling. To stay consistent with my round one pick, I went with the player that I feel has the higher ceiling.

Flames actually have some solid forward prospects. The big three are obvious, but there are some sneaky good guys too like Pospisil, Petterson, Francis and Kerins.

It's why I cringe when our own "fans" crap on our prospect pool.

There's a price you pay when you don't draft in the top rounds, but in the last few drafts they've re-stocked the pool to some extent.
It lacks truly elite talent, but certainly it is improving.
For me there is a clear top 3 and then it gets interesting at #4 between the goalies, a few intriguing dmen and some remaining interesting forwards. Not sure where I will go there yet.

Is it too late to add Mackey to the list? I know he is older, but still hasn’t made the league…

Zary all day.
Using Bader's NHLe, Coronato had a NHLe of 38 in his Draft0 year, Connor Zary had a 37.
For further comparison, here are some other D0 years for some other players:
Dylan Cozens: 30
Vasili Podkolzin: 11
Trevor Zegras: 34
Jakob Pelletier: 29
Matthew Tkachuk: 46
Brady Tkachuk: 24
Tim Stuetzle: 35
Tyson Foerester: 32
Marco Rossi: 53
Cole Perfetti: 45
I find the Zary/Cozens comparison interesting.
D-1:
Zary: 26
Cozens: 23
D0:
Zary: 38
Cozens: 30
D1:
Zary: 39
Cozens: 41
D2:
Zary: We shall see
Cozens: 26

Zary. He is going to be an NHLer, only question is is how high is his ceiling?
I've got him at a #2 C who will fill in in a pinch at 1C if needed.

Mitchell Mattson is missing…not that he’ll get votes for 39 rounds or so.
