It made for good conversation, but I was amazed how many people legitimately thought taking Price was a good move for Seattle.
It worked for Vegas with MAF because he was 2 years younger, only had 2 years of a $5.75 million AAV contract left, and Pittsburgh paid them a 2nd rounder to free up the cap space.
Price's contract is in my top 5 worst contracts in the NHL right now. And since he needs a good performing backup to limit his regular season games, you're effectively required to tie up $13-14 million in goaltending.
