Blueline looks thin. Don’t believe Tre and Sutter will go with just the 7 signed guys
Looking around the league seeing a few teams with 8 waiver eligible defenseman , I’m convinced the Flames will add a blue liner off waivers

If there are no changes I think it will be:
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk (same as the end of the season)
Mangiapane-Monahan-Coleman (I think Monahan will benefit from two relatively quick and hardworking wingers who have a nose for the net)
Dube-Backlund-Pitlick (Pitlick is a defensive specialist so you can’t use him on the 4th line if you want to use him in a shutdown role.
Lucic-Lewis-Ritchie (bruise bros)

That's if no forward prospects make it out of camp. Personally I hope that Pelletier/Phillips/Zary claims Pitlick's spot on the 3rd line by seasons end. A Gawdin/Ruzicka on the 4th line wouldn't be too bad either. Also, can see an offensive defenseman addition before camp.

I think this really is where it sits but it could get interesting when/if the flames take a look at some PTO options. I still think if we don’t make a big splash via trade then we need to start promoting guys like Pelletier, Gawdin, Phillips and Ruzicka and given our internal depth a chance to take a step.
