This is probably bang on. We all want deals but the answers are in the room yadda yadda yadda.

I can see the Flames overpaying another RHS UFA like Armia or Hyman and play them up the lineup, moving Dube, Ritchie etc down

they have 14 standard roster contracts according to CapFriendly.

At minimum they will need to sign:
1 backup goalie
3 D-men ( they have 3 RFAs - Kylington, Valimaki, Mackey)
7 Forwards ( they have 1 full time roster RFA- Dube)

Granted only 7 of the 11 players needed will get regular minutes.

I would imagine those 3 D plus Stone if the re-sign him are pretty low salaries. None of them will make over $1M. Backup - it depends how they want to play it. There will be a lot available. Same with bottom six forwards.

On defense I can imagine that Kinnvall will get a good long look. He absolutely dominated in the SHL, and will only count for $925,000 against the cap.

I mean one reclamation project is cool and see how it plays out.
Constantly taking other teams rejects is a great way to confirm why they were free and available for league minimum.
