Default Sabres are close to trading Taylor Hall. Down to 3 teams.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Some hard work getting done today in Buffalo. Sources indicate a Taylor Hall trade is getting close at this point.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
It’s believed 3 teams remain in the mix for Hall.

Gotta think the Leafs will have interest after freeing all that cap space.

I'd much sooner give up a 1st for Hall than Foligno.

I hope it is not the Oil unless it blows up huge in their face.

They added Riley Nash, which gives them close to $3 million of additional LTIR space

Could see a three-team trade happening where the Leafs add Hall at 25%... so, $2 million.

I mean it probably would

1st round pick, lose in the first round, he walks or gets overpaid

Media would be extra annoying for a while though

They would have to include a salary dump and I really doubt Buffalo would take Neal back. They have absolutely zero wiggle room without also giving up a significant player.. I hope they actually do get Hall and create another hole somewhere else.

The Oil don’t have enough room even with LTIR I think.

I hope it is the Oil and it costs them their first and a capable roster player. They’ll barely have any draft picks for 2021 and Hall is just another one dimensional player for a one dimensional team!!

...if Eichel came with him, sure!

Hall is still one of my favourite non-Flames in the league. I hope he ends up somewhere good. It’d be cool to see it be Florida.

As horrible as the Sabres are at everything, this was a smart signing. It was basically signing a free first round pick+ at this year's deadline.

Must be nice to have sought after UFAs when your team is selling.

I was thinking the same thing. For approx. $3M+ they've bought themselves a 1st round pick + something else. Very shrewd.

Yes, this is why 1 year contracts are so valuable in free agency.
Almost everyone can be traded for free assets when they're rentals.
