Default Eastside Hockey Manager -- Scout

I'm needing to add some prospects/young players with a lot of upside...

Can any of you suggest 1. Defenceman 2. Goalie

Who have real good potential? I'm particularly looking for sleepers, i.e. I picked up Ryan Malone for a few low draft picks and he is lighting it up with Kobasew on my second line.

Thanks!!

Players, especially young ones, have variable ratings, which actually differ each game.

Your best bet is to scout a lot of times, especially during the draft and trade up. A good first round pick is likely to benefit you more than any of your low rounds by a good margin, especially the high ones.

There is 1-2 Superstars (always going very high) who can make an immediate and long term impact.

Mid season you can do trade draft picks with teams who will likely do ****ty at a reduced price, for fairly cheap. (usually my 1st and a 3rd for their 1st), which since you plan on winning the cup each season, will help you out a lot.

I love that game but man does it crawl on my computer. Brand new machine with a couple gigs of ram and it takes me twice as long to play a season as champman when I only have two leagues running compared to 4 or 5 countries in champman (or football manager now i guess).

It depends on your team I think, I really cater my style to the top players on my roster.

I tend to build teams with two really good offensive forward lines and a top 4 or 5 goalie and just run and gun, I try to add Richards who is good bang for the buck early on and maybe a prospect to play the left wing with Iggy and him, Alexander Semin can get you 30-35 on that line and is dirt cheap for a first liner. I can't literally watch a big defense clobber other teams forwards with hits so I go for scoring. I play in the danish league with odense bulldogs currently and coach the denmark world junior team though, I am trying to earn my way to the NHL, plus I like signing the all Sutter jr. line and watching them destroy Denmark.
