January 18th - 9 Games
It's MLK Day in the USA so there were two afternoon games. The BJs beat the Wings 3-2 and the Islanders beat Boston 1-0 with Varlamov getting his 2nd shut out of the season.
Other games:
-Leafs 1 Jets 0 in the 2nd. Tavares with the goal. Nice of Toronto to use a mostly grey background to match the usual suits in the crowd.
-Sabres 1 Flyers 0 in the 1st.
-Sharks 0 Blues 0 in the 1st.
-Canes 0 Preds 0 in the 1st.
-Wild Ducks at 7PM
-Canadiens Oilers at 7PM. Suck it loserviller go Habs!
-Coyotes Knights at 8PM.

Seen on twitter that Larkin left Werenski’s parents tickets to catch the game as only Wings players have access to tickets right now. Guess the two grew up together. They also fought each other in the last minute of the game.
Gotta love hockey.

It would be doubly humorous indeed if Montreal Canadiens handily dispatched Edmonton Hockey Team in as many nights. Edmonton n'est pas bon!

The Jets bad defense is even worse without Demelo and Logan Stanley in his first NHL game is scary alone then toss him to the Leafs.

Help, save, whatever.

Huge block by Brodie that leads to an empty netter for Marner.
Leafs dominated first two periods but the Jets came on strong in the third.
Marner with 2 goals. Tavares with another goal. Solid game.

Of course with Montreal going up by a goal, it is then a steady stream of powerplays for the Oilers as the refs try to get them back in the game.

These officials in the Oilers game just called a perfectly good Montreal goal off.

Yeah. I think this is another case of an NHL official calling what he thought happened rather than what he actually saw. Terrible no-goal call.
