No effect on waivers because of age IIRC, just a reduced salary if playing in the AHL.

He would have to clear waivers to be sent down, but there are no longer recall waivers. Although, I don't think that will be an issue, especially if they expand the active rosters to 26 and allow teams to carry a taxi squad of relief players as was being discussed (they might require players to clear waivers to go on the taxi squad).

Although I see a massive mountain for him to climb to even beat out Nesterov for the 6 spot. Then a pretty good battle for the 7th spot. But the kid has to play. We don't even know how the farm kids are gonna get ice.

I thought he really showed a lot of positives last season and I think he is poised to be on the team full time..

I just don't see all the bad things that others have seen. I can accept that I probably have confirmation bias.

Yes. He won't be UFA-eligible until 2024.

Interesting, I thought he really showed his limitations last year the more he played which prompted BT to deal for Gustafsson and Forbort at the deadline.
