Default Source for boat parts

Anyone own a boat and do their own maintenance?

Our old family fishing boat has been sitting at my parents place for years and I've finally hauled it out of their yard.

Needs a bit of work but I'm not sure what's a good place to buy parts that has a good inventory? I know there is that larger boat shop in Nanton but hoping for something in Calgary?

Need a new impeller, some spark plugs, gas line and probably a tank.

Renfrew Marine, Martin Motorsports, and a few others have a decent parts department.

Just look up "boat dealer" on Google Maps and it'll show you where they all are. Not all have a service/parts department, but most do.

If it's a really old motor or something, your best bet will be online unfortunately.

Good stuff, thanks.

Ya, it is a bit of an older Evinrude. Probably late 70s or early 80s. Despite that, it's probably has less than 50 hours of run time on it. It's like brand new inside but it will need so work before I fire it up again.

Should be a fun little project.

This is a random suggestion... but it always seems like there's so many DIY categories where someone randomly suggests Princess Auto as being a surprising place they found the parts and supplies they needed at a great price.

Not sure how Princess Auto is set up for boat parts but if you need any trailer parts, they have you 100% covered. Man they have an unreal inventory for trailers.

Yeah, it was kinda random, but if you get lucky, you get lucky I guess? It's worth a quick glance IMO.

In another CP thread, there was a mention about Princess Auto being a great place for a special mosquito repellant refills which seemed super random. It always seems like Princess Auto is recommended around once a month for a place to find something hard to find to repair a house, ATV, trailer etc. So I wouldn't be surprised if it's a good place for the occasional boat part.

Totally agree. Princess Auto is like London Drugs. The one place you don't think of that probably has what you're looking for.

I don't have a boat but I've gotten all kinds of specific lawn mower and other small engine parts through boats.net which I assume mostly exists for boat parts.
