That's probably a good spot for him. Hope he does well.

Never understood the lack of opportunity, especially when he was good before his injury / in Stockton and given our need for scoring. This team is weird.

Good luck Czar.

Kid never got a fair shake here. Hoping he can find his game and confidence once again.

Guy has tons of skill just hasn't been able to translate his game to the NHL level. I wish him luck with the Islanders but I am guessing he will play mostly in the minors.

He's way too good for the AHL, hopefully he gets a chance in NY

He had points in 3 straight NHL games, got injured, then never got got back into an NHL game. He put up over a PPG in the AHL when he was healthy

A guaranteed NHL salary in year 2? Good for him.

I didn't know you could switch from 2-way to 1-way like that

Good luck to Czarnik. Never really worked out for him in Calgary.

I believe Jon Gillies’ last contract was similar to this as well.

Exactly. And that was the only way he would have earned an NHL salary that year so worked out for him.

Austin Czarnik and Drew Shore remind me of each other. Highly touted when they arrived, but couldn't prove it in the big leagues. Hope it works out for him.

Dammit. I just purchased his game worn retro set 1. I really enjoyed the energy he brought whenever he was in the lineup. Good luck to him.

Feels like we're just shedding players without bringing new guys in.

It seems like management is willing to give some kids a chance. Let's see what they can bring.

Good for Czarnik; happy for him but also happy for Matty Phillips because I think he has a shot to push for a spot at camp.

He got a lot of different chances with the Flames, but was never consistent enough to be NHLer. If he wasn't scoring he was useless.
