Sakic is doing some amazing work with that club.

Perfect bridge deal and still all the room in the world to add Hall on a shrt term deal if that's the way he decides to go.

Not really a bridge deal. This takes Burakovsky right to UFA.

They have a handful of important RFAs left to go. They are almost as close to the cap as Calgary assuming those guys get what they deserve. And then he has to worry about Makar next year.

Ahhh...didnt notice that.

Still though, its a great price point for them and short enough they will have room for someone now and able to have room to lock up Nathan in a couple years at what im guessing will be close to McDavid dollars.

Who?

Nichushkin? Jost? Zadorov?

They will be pretty easy to do I would guess. Still have 17M in space.

As for Makar, he will get paid for sure but right now they are projected to have 36M in space. That would likely mean losing Landeskog mind you.

Either way though that team may have the best payroll structure in the league.

Im envious.

The deal actually buys a UFA year, he only had 1 RFA year left (next year would be his 7th year in the league)

Also Graves. He, Nikushkin and Zadorov are also arb eligible. I figure they total around $9M or slightly less.

For next year they have to resign Makar, but also have Landeskog, Bellemare, Grubauer, Calvert and Cole.

It’s not bad but I still think they move out salary.
