Question I Win.... or do I lose? (Time shares at Flames game?)

Got a call tonite that my name was drawn from the entry I left on the concourse of the dome.

Apparently I have won a weekend getaway to Banff and a Digital Camera.

Now.... I been there done that before.... gone to the 90 minute time share crap before.

Has anyone had any specific experience with this company. Sorry I can't remeber the name. They did tell me my prizes are guaranteed. I am just really skeptical.

Thanks

I got a "free digital camera" once from attending a timeshare; they handed it to me and it was a toy camera. I figured I'd give it to my niece, but I should make sure it works first. The resolution was so poor you couldn't even tell the pic of my car was a car.

Yeah, I got the same call. Not sure if I will attend the session or not. I also "Won" the same prize. Is that hotel any good?

I have done it before, when in Florida, for free Disney World and Epcot Center tickets. It wasnt too bad, but the 90 minute session was really about 2.5 hours... Mostly of me saying "No Thanks".

The funny thing about the call tonight was the scheduling of the session.

Caller: "Can you come in Wednesday night".
Me: "Uh... Obviously not, there is a Flames game."
Caller: "You are going to the game?"
Me: "Yeah, I am a STH"
Caller: "How about Thursday?"
Me: "Nope, going to a Birthing class with my wife"
Caller: "How about Friday?"
Me: "Haha! No, there is ANOTHER Flames game"

Maybe, if you are affiliated with a contest running at Flames games, you MIGHT WANNA KNOW THE SCHEDULE!

Finally, we settled on Saturday, but it turns out my wife is busy. So, if I want to go, I'll have to reschedule.

If anyone else goes in the next couple days, let me know if it is worth it.

Is this from the draw right when you walk into the Dome? Those people seemed rather persistant that I enter; including last game when I got there at 6:55. Similar converstation as Draug, but with me walking away saying "no, the game's about to start."

Yes that would be the one. I think they are set up on the east side.

These kind of things always seem to have loopholes... Yes you win a free weekend in Banff.... provided that you book the rest of the week kind of sneaky crap.

Someone has to have gone to the presentation.... Please tell us if we should waste our time.

cant speak for this one in particular, but i wouldnt waste my time.

nothing, NOTHING, is ever free. if you are getting something for nothing, then they are getting nothing for something and thats just not how profit focused business works.

reminds me of the time my wife informed me some guy was coming tomorrow night to clean our living room carpet for free. lol

I went to a presentation and the "prize" was 3 nights in a Vegas hotel. The small print said must be booked in advance, Mon to Thursday only, not valid on public holidays, airfare not included.
