Sweet. Hopefully we get a stream of some sort from some of the assembled press.

so I imagine that for an intersquad game the group under suspicion of being under covid protocol is cleared to play with the cool kids?

Are the groups still still the same for this mornings session?

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Looks like we’re going to see the two training camp groups together for today’s morning skate at the Saddledome.

Regulars have been split up through the first five days for circumstances the team is unable to reveal. Intra-squad game tonight at 8:30 pm. #Flames

Kristen Anderson @KdotAnderson
Also looked like Buddy Robinson was watching the first group skate along with Andrew Mangiapane and a fellow in a Blue Jays hat who I couldn't not identify. Point is, Buddy Robinson has been sighted after not being around (from what we can tell) all camp.

A answer to the question nobody asked, “where is Buddy”?
Only if it was Vlad Jr in the baseball cap would this be intriguing.

Will be interested to see what innuendo or fabrication someone in the media concocts next in the Flames camp to try and get some free clicks and attention.

Does this essentially confirm a bottom pairing of Forbort - Gustafsson? I feel pretty great about those defense pairs.

Phillips was on a line with Froese and Gawdin on Day 1. After Backlund left on Day 2 Gawdin was bumped up to fill his spot, and Mackey joined Froese and Phillips.

*EDIT* I expect Gawdin - Phillip's will comprise line #3 or #4 on the other squad. (I missed seeing Froese on the first squad.)

Darn, I was hoping to see Tkachuk as the #1 Center.
I'm being facetious.

IMO, the best lineup for the defensive pairings is:

Giordano - Brodie
Hanifin - Andersson
Forbort - Gustafsson

with Kylington and Stone as the sub-ins for offensive and defensive needs respectively (because Valimaki isn't ready)

so yeah, good to see

(assuming no Hamonic, obviously)

News Update

Pat Steinberg
@Fan960Steinberg

Dillon Dube and Buddy Robinson are on the ice with the second game group today.

First time for both of them at this training camp, as they had been classified unable to practice. #Flames

In my mind, I know that Bennett is a placeholder for Ryan, but I'm quietly hoping that Lucic is a placeholder for literally anyone, and the real third/fourth line is Lucic-Ryan-also anyone.

Phillips missing today.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Matthew Phillips hasn’t skated with either of the groups today.

Derek Ryan skated on his own earlier. He hasn’t practiced with the group since Monday, the first day of camp. #Flames
