Feasted got nothing for Iggy, Reg and Kipper

And calling Iginla the “player” was a joke. The guy was the worst GM this organization ever had. I’m not even listing his screwups.

To be fair to Feaster, he was the guy hired to wear the dunce cap and get a black eye. He just didn't have to wear it so well and take the credibility out of the organization that it had rebuilt.

There was a very good reason why Burke was hired

Doug Risebrough made the single worst, and largest, trade this team ever was part of.

And its because he had a personality clash with Gilmour.

Such a bad GM....Feaster gave us Gaudreau at least, Risebrough gave us Gary ####ing Leeman.

Now we are in the “you’re sure to find sh*t in a manure pile” stage

Case for Feaster:

Pluses

Got team out of salary cap hell, albeit at a cost (Regehr)
Allowed scouts to do their jobs and didn’t interfere (got Johnny as a a result)
Hired Hartley who got team into second round after a very long absence
Traded Erixon’s rights for a decent return
Acquired serviceable pieces (Colborne and Russell) for low cost
Signed Jiri Hudler to a decent contract
Bourque for Cammalleri deal

Minuses
Signed Wideman to awful deal with a ntc to boot (and gave up pick for his rights)
Awful returns for Iginla and Bouwmeester
Signed Tanguay to awful contract
O’Reilly offer sheet
Botched 2013 draft
Cost Paid to get out of cap jail

He did a lot of little things right and a lot of big things poorly. Inherited a team that was a mess salary cap wise which has to be taken into context. Gaffes not as bad as Button or Riser so he got my vote for 6

Jay Feaster had his warts, and made some mistakes, but no way does he deserve to be ranked below Button and Risebrough.

Not sure how you can hold the Iginla trade against Feaster....that was all on #12 accepting a deal to one destination only.

I was talking to Conroy and Feaster graciously took a picture of us for me.

That tipped the vote his way for me

Outside of the top 6 or so picks, that 2013 draft looks all around terrible.

Not sure how you can blame Feaster for a bad talent pool to pick from.

His record on paper simply isn’t that bad, compared to others in franchise history. Where Feaster understandably gets crushed and others benefit is on style points and the trust factor.

Can't honestly blame anyone for finding a reason to vote one guy over the other two at this point.

To me Risebrough is the worst because of a franchise killing trade ... but also the alienation that came from his management style effecting both Gilmour and Nieuwendyk. He almost single handedly destroyed the relationship between players and an organization that was considered classy up to that point.

I picked Feaster over Button, but I almost tossed a coin.

And he's a little bit the guy that jumped off the bridge and survived.

You're happy he wasn't killed, but it was still stupid to think it was a good idea. Either way you don't want a bridge jumper running your franchise.

Pause Button did nothing. Risebrough did terrible. For me the worst is a coin toss between the two. Feaster did poorly but he had some more, albeit minor, positives than the other two. Can't fault anyone who thinks he's the worst though.

How in the hell is anyone giving any votes to Button? Next to Millbury he is probably the worst GM in NHL history.

Think you are missing some big minuses:

Got taken to town on Regher trade.

Took another bad return for tanguay and sarich. Especially considering we were
rebuilding

Not only were returns aweful on JBO and Iggy , he then used the 2 first round picks on 2 guys that played less then 10 games

After everybody said he left the cupboard full when he left it looks like it was quite empty. Only Johnny , money and janko to show for it. He had a lot of picks and wasted them. Witherspoon, seilof, Gilles, klimchuk , Poirier ect

I get he created cap but I’m sure the next gm would have preferred some of his 1st and 2nd round picks to hit instead of cap space.

All that said , all 3 gems left in the board are useless.

No kidding. You're supposed to be this "great evaluator of young talent" and then you waive Martin St. Louis and then cut him, trade JS Giguere for a 2nd round pick right before he became a cup caliber starting goalie, and trade Marc Savard for Ruslan Zainullan.

Yikes.

Poitier was a reach. Could have had Theodore or Burakovsky.

Turned down a package from Detroit (Nyquist/Tatar or both) for Bouwmeester and took an inferior package from StL as he insisted on first round pick. Had to hit on that first rounder and he flubbed.

So he failed to properly assess value. One would hope that he reviewed the packages with his scouting department to determine if what was offered by Detroit player wise was better than what was available in the draft.

I think he had his mind set on a first rounder as a required element of return and that in itself is poor thought process.

Regardless, if they make the right picks in 2013 it’s a moot point and we aren’t discussing this. He blew it and it’s part of his record.

The Regehr trade was gross, but it's a fan worst nightmare. He lowered the value of a good asset by attaching a cap dump to that asset in order to clear cap space to take a run at Brad Richards.

For me, I wonder if that decision is 100% on Feaster, or was it ownership/Iginla driven in a last gasp effort to go for it one last time with Jarome in the fold.

He’s the one that put himself in that position. He left himself with zero options and no control. Then went on a “The Player” PR campaign to try and place blame on Iginla and save his butt

He was played, will respect T99, you would have handled the situation a 1000 times better

The Conroy deal worked out by luck more than anything. His Morris for Drury and the Leopold trade were both decent. Everything else was pretty terrible.
