Batgirl
I watched it its an interesting idea. But Ruby Rose is just so flat in it that I thought she was a cardboard box.
They also did the big reveal right off of the start.
When I compare it to Gotham and even the Pennyworth series this just seemed flat.

I didn't even like the character/acting when she was introduced in the Crossover episodes last year so I gave this series a pass.

Heh, I opened the thread expecting some neat news about Batgirl, and instead it's about Batwoman. Shame. I've heard nothing good about the series, either.

It's a character with a lot of potential, but after I saw the direction that they were going to go, I might not even watch it.
Ruby Rose isn't a bad actress, but this was absolutely stunt casting so that they could amp up the fact that the character is gay. They decided instead to go with the gay is character, and make it soapy.

I almost felt on the she's gay story line that they followed it to the point of distraction. I agree, I don't think that Rose is a bad actress, she was just so cardboard in the first episode. Also in terms of the bat suit, with the thin neck and big head she looked more like Rat Woman, I guess that's why they'll eventually add hair to it.

She gets tired of being mistaken for Batman, would be my guess.

I saw the previews and it just wasn't interesting enough for me to bother with. Good to receive confirmation on my suspicions.
If they turn it around and it is good then I'll give it a try later.

Ruby Rose leaves the show
https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/bat...-2-1234611163/
I gave up on the show at about the halfway point of the season, Rose got worse and worse as the series went on and she reverted back to what she does in the other roles that she's been in, you know. Glowers and has all of the emoting of a block of wood.
Maybe I'll check it out in season 2.
But the track record of shows surviving replacing the main characters isn't good.
Also comparing a show like Gotham to Batwoman, there was no comparison.

CW must be desperate for TV shows to have given Batwoman a second season.
