Toews on the move to the Avs

Well, it is definitely a buyer's market out there. Limited buyers and lots of sellers looking to shed a fair bit of salary.

All of this added up to a bit of a mess for me and the Ducks, as we needed to shed salary to keep the guys we wanted to keep.

In the end, Toews was the guy on the block. Got close in a move with Ravi, but the final deal ended up with the Avs.

After Pat wearing me down over the week, this is how the deal broke down:

D. Bokk
K. Vesalainen

Both guys are former 1st Rounders in the last few drafts.

Bokk had a stellar WJC and is a dynamic, big winger. Hopefully he can fulfill his potential with the Canes.

Vesalainen is a bit of a longer shot. Had a weird path to North America, but started playing much better in the last number of months. He is a big talented winger at 6'4, and could fit in well if he continues to improve.

I think Pat gets the better end of this deal, but as said, it is a buyer's market.

Nice deal guys. Toews is a nice addition to any team. I like the two prospects that simmer brought back as well.

I am banking on the 19-20 sim season as a random sim-hating year and projecting 20-21 to be a significantly better year so I brought in Toews.

Having Toews-Scheifele down the middle should give me a nice 1-2 punch.

As of right now our forward group going into next season looks like the following:
