Come get Lehner

OK guys I've decided I want to trade Lehner to help manage my cap and conditions. I don't want to not do my due diligence here on such a valuable asset so I've put together this post to help people know what I want.

For Lehner, I want the following:

Must have, with few exceptions:

- A first-round pick this year OR
- A first-round pick and a second-round pick next year OR
- A player selected with a first-round pick in either of the last two drafts, to be selected at my discretion

Near-required:

- Decent, cheap, RFA-aged forward or defenseman. Someone like a middle-pair dman or a middle-six winger. Someone in the mould of (purely examples) Adam Larsson or Joel Armia
- Downgrade in net. Someone decent (at least .910 in the NHL this year), around Francouz-level.

How to make your offer pop? Add in a couple extra picks this year or a couple interesting prospects. If you're willing to take a guy like Anisimov or Comeau as part of a deal, that works too. But those guys are only there to help offset the cap of the forward/dman you're sending back to me -- I'm not dumping them on you just for the sake of dumping them. They can be pieces of the trade -- they're good players. Of course it is not a dealbreaker if you can't take either of those forwards -- I'm glad to keep them. But they're available.

Here's a potential deal framework for Lehner.

OUT:
Robin Lehner
Artem Anisimov
Dean Kukan
Brett Leason

IN:
2020 1st or 2021 1st and 2nd
Lesser goalie
Forward or dman

Obviously I'm open to anything. But at the end of the day, I would like this deal to accomplish the following things:

- Help me clear salary
- Help me add a first-round pick

After that, I'm focused on helping you add Robin Lehner, a top-5 goalie in the league.

Hope this is clear enough. I'd like to see other GMs take this approach to selling assets.
