Tim Hunter was a great Calgary Flames, but it's hard to ignore Matthew Tkachuk's immediate impact on the team.
Had such high hopes for Kobasew (who wore 7 too) and Saprykin.

I know it's not all about points, but Tim Hunters career high with the Flames was 22
Tkachuk is a legit star player while bringing so much more than just points, and he's the future captain. He's only 22 years old but easily the best #19 already

OK so Tim Hunter- A Calgary kid, original Calgary Flame. from one of the deepest drafts of all time and still managed to play more games than many big names on the list (including the 2 other notable Flames draftees Pepper and Reinhart). A top dog enforcer when that position mattered. Over 100 playoff games, 3 trips to the finals, and a co-captain of the 89 cup champs
But Tkachuk is the most compelling player on the current Flames, equal parts famous and infamous, his story yet to be written, but on a team that includes Johnny Gaudreau you can argue the current 19 is the team's most talented player. he gets my vote
few others merit much mention. Kobasew/Saprkyin perhaps, and ok sure David Jones

Loved Tim Hunter, voted Matthew Tkachuk, but the biggest goal scored by a player wearing #19 for the Calgary Flames belongs to Oleg Saprykin.
Hopefully Tkachuk scores a bigger one in the near future.

My first autographed stick was from Timmy Hunter. I called into one of the old sports talk shows on QR770 and asked him a couple questions....and he signed a stick that I then went down and picked up. I was over the moon about it.
But even with that - Tkachuk is the answer here.

Former captain vs. future captain.
It won't be long before the answer is Tkachuk, but Hunter still gets my vote today.

No disrespect to Hunter because he was an absolute warrior, but this is clearly Tkachuk's number.
Yes, I'm being prospective here, but he's probably going to end up being one of the franchise leaders at some point. This team is going to hang on to Tkachuk long term.

I hope so, he's my favorite player. I wish BT didn't sign him to that stupid bridge contract. He's either walking the year after arbitration or he's making like $11m. Not ideal.

I don't mind if they pay players market value but going 3 years on your burgeoning franchise player is not proper planning. I get that BT was painted into a corner but that's his fault too. I would've done mark stone's contract for chucky but there was no space.
