Thanks for pointing this out about Backlund

Another two goals and an assist for Mikael Backlund, as the player now has 15 points in 12 February games, and 16 points in 14 games since the all star break.
I’ll go a touch further. Last 10 games he has had 8 g 7 a 15 pts and +5

The only game he has been held off the scoresheet was that Chicago debacle, after which he missed the following practice due to illness.

I like beast mode Backs

28 points to get to 100 in the last 18 games. That should guarantee home ice in round 1.

It would take a heater, could only have equivalent of 4 regulation losses. But it is very possible, especially if you could nab the next 4 or 5 in a row.

Yup at the way we're playing on the road, I'd like to finish third and play the Canucks or Oilers in the first round. Preferably Canucks so I can selfishly watch a playoff game live easily.

It has been really bad for a couple months, but before December the Flames were unbeatable at home. They need to get this sorted out with so many home dates left, but re-establishing that home-ice dominance essentially turns the Flames into a VERY dangerous team heading into the playoffs. They're great on the road and have their top two lines rolling. Add to that a strong home presence and they really could make some noise.

I suspect the closer to POs they get, the more road-like the Flames will play at home. PO hockey is more like road hockey as far as being tight checking and simple, only with more intensity.
