Ugh thats really unfortunate for him. I tore my ACL this past summer, its no fun. Of course he will get surgery/treatment right away so should be back next year rather than waiting a year+ like us regular folk.

Ouch, that's a brutal injury

But will he get his own 1 hour documentary on his rehab?

Well Sharks managment can probably start focussing on the draft as this has to be the nail in the coffin. They really don't have much in the way of attractive UFA's they can sell off at the deadline. Such a shame that things are unravelling for that organization and while it felt like it may never happen for a while father time eventually caught up to the Kings, Ducks, and now Sharks.

That Karlsson trade and deal looks absolutely awful now. I feel for Hertl. Should have been All Star MVP.

I wonder if SJ would consider moving Kevin LeBanc?

He is a pending RFA with arbitration rights, and is only 24-years-old. He might be their most attractive asset for his cost control, and while he is still fairly young, if the Sharks decide to rebuild he's probably not a long-term piece of that process.

The Senators have the Sharks 1st round pick this summer. Likely two top five picks for Ottawa.

Theres a 'Thats gotta Hertl!' joke in here somewhere.

Couldnt care less about the Sharks but this is really unfortunate for Hertl. Good player and this is a serious injury.

I think the clear answer is yes. It's focus will be on how McHobo's inspiration is the only source of Hertl's strength to overcome.

"I took a Q-Tip. I swabbed Connor's forehead after the game and then rubbed the Q-Tip on my ACL. I played the next night"

Sportsnet's "The Power of McDavid" episode 6 of 42.

Terrible news for the Sharks and for Hertl, hate seeing guys get hurt.

Wonder how likely it is now that the Senators get picks 1 and 2 in the draft

Any remote hope SJ had just went up in smoke. Sure it was a Dumber and Dumber meme chance. I wonder when they decide to just blow everything up.

For SJ there is a daunting distance between "deciding" to rebuild, and actually conducting a rebuild:

· Erik Karlsson, 29-years-old, $11.25 m cap-hit until 2027, NMC
· Logan Couture, 31 years-old, $8.0 m cap-hit until 2027, m-NMC
· Brent Burns, 35-years-old, $8.0 m cap hit until 2025, m-NMC
· Marc-Edouard Vlasic, 33-years-old, $7.0 m cap-hit until 2026, NMC
· Evander Kane, 28-years-old, $7.0 m cap-hit until 2025, m-NMC

That is onerous. $41.25 m of contract obligations to five players for at least five years into their mid-to-late thirties, and all with NMCs. The Sharks are in serious, insurmountable trouble.

I wonder if Wilson will be around to fix the mess he created.

ugh, that is ugly. Even worse if the picks they gave up for Karlsson end up means it pretty much gets kicked down the road another year. I think Wilson may be on his way out.

Good god. Doug Wilson has been the GM in SJ for seventeen years. One would have to think there is a good chance he is punted this summer.

I will be legitimately shocked if he's not shown the door. Every single thing he has done in the past three seasons has exploded in the team's face.
