The Washington Capitals are pleased to announce the acquisition of Martin Lapointe. The overpaid, often Maligned winger will be able to help find his game playing a top 2 line ice on the Capitals.

The capitals gave up a young prospect in Steve Bernier and a4th round. Bernier has the potential to be a top NHLer in the future.

The Capitals feel that this will address their need for a Winger that can contribute. The most important aspect of all this is that Modry is staying put ont he blueline for the time being. It was a well known fact that GM Hesla had been dangling Modry to get some additional help up front.

Lapointe will suit up in the Capitals next game, and is expected to play on a line with Nathan Horton and Tyler Arnason.
