Default Flames vs Panthers (7pm)

Never made a GDT before. Hoping for some good luck.
May today be the return of the Flames that we remember and miss.

Supposedly the Panthers media were talking up the Flames as the Panthers easiest opponent on their western road trip which includes stops in Vancouver and Edmonton.

I get that. They were just talking on 960 if this was going to be bulletin board material for the Flames.

Not sure I like the mix on the bottom six.

Did Quine get returned?

So Rieder gets his first goal and then has to sit. Needs to cool those skates I guess.

Also, good job Czarnik. You scored that goal! But you also whiffed on one, soooo...here's Lucic.

I don't mind Reider taking a seat. He was terrible last game until he scored that tap in in garbage time.

I still think Frolik is a much better choice for the 2nd line even if not a great one. All the other guys there simply looked lost for the most part, though Mangiapane was OK for a stretch. His inability to stay on his feet is a problem though.

I'm just being a smart ass about it, thats all.

That said I honestly thought Frolik would be the one to sit as Rieder on the 4L seemed a decent fit. Plus it meant speed up and down the lineup.

Sportselect Info
Panthers Win = 2.6
Overtime = 3.6
Flames Win = 1.95
Over 6.5 = 1.8
Under 6.5 = 1.6

Panthers have points in 6 straight with four of those going to overtime. Flames need to get back in the win column tonight if they want to keep pace in the division as they have some tough road matchups next week. If they can lock up the Panthers top line with 3M and Brodano, and avoid penalties I like their chances. I think they will be able to get the top line out against the Panther's weaker defenders and hopefully allow them to break out a bit. I think they get the job done tonight in a close game with a 4-2 win (ENG).

Getting bored with this iteration of the Flames and its ways.

Hope they surprise me for a change and annihilate them 7-1. Come in waves like they did pre all star break last year. But really, we need some unusual suspects to make an impact.

Mangiapane-Ryan-Bennett looked great the one time they were a line. Sadly injuries got in the way that game before we got a real good look so I'm excited to see that tonight.

Am I the only one that scans the bottom six and doesn't care what it looks like. It's all kind of the same level of mediocrity at the moment.

Can't say they are wrong.

Last year really doesn't mean anything.

Oil are Oil, but the Canucks have a decent roster. I don't think we should be talking down on these two teams as much as we do, that's Oiler fan mentality.

I assume this is a minor threat to Frolik

"Changes ready to go for the foward lines" = Czarnik can move up.
