I've been researching MP3 players...anyway the one I want isn't available in Canada, nor will very many outlets ship here. www.ecost.com does offer Canadian shipping. The price seems very good too...which has me a little suspicious. I'm just looking for some feedback from anyone who may have purchased something from that site?

The new goggles also do nothing.

They use Borderfree (http://www.borderfree.com/consumers/index.jsp) which is very nice; you know the exact price you'll pay up front, taxes and customs included, and no $50 suprise brokerage fees from UPS.

I personally haven't but I've heard of a few people in Canada that have ordered from them with no problems.

The only thing to worry about is if it isn't available in Canada, you're probably not going to have any warranty. Or often times warranties aren't transferrable across the border.

And as always, if you pay with your credit card if you don't get it for whatever reason you'll be covered.

I ordered my last video card through ECOST last summer and everything went fine.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

I used ECOST to buy a DVD player about 2 years ago. The transaction was very smooth and delivery was quick. It was nice to know exactly what I would have to pay - no nasty customs surprises. I would use them again.

Yep, I have used Ecost too.

The Borderfree makes it a piece of cake.

I bought a laptop one time, and a digital camera another time. $2000 and $700 purchases respectively. I had no problems whatsoever.

I considered buying a Plasma TV there, but then was told by Panasonic that Panasonic Canada and Panasonic USA had different Manufacturer's Warranties. It may or may not have caused me problems, but with something that costly I didnt risk it.

With a small purchase, like a camera, iPod, or a single electronic component, I would have no hesitation in buying from Ecost at all.

I looked into to it but the Borderfree service costs money too, and as I recall it was something stupid like $30 above the postage costs. (depending on the item) Totally torpedoed the cost savings but YMMV.
