Oilers/Flames BOA 7 PM Saddledome
Dont think I have made one of these in my 20 years of being on CP.
At any rate, line up for the Flames looks like;

Looks to me like MacDonald gets one last shot at earning a deal, and Czarnik/Rieder battle for 13th spot.
Ryan feeling under the weather so will not dress.

What a Motley crew of misfits that third line is.
Think Jankowski - Ryan - Rieder should be our final 4th line

Koskinen is playing the entire game for the Oil.
I don’t care who it is, if you’re taking a shot......go glove side.

I’d say Dube is done. I assume our 13 forwards are the guys that are playing and Derek ryan.
As for Kylington, I’d say he’s a likely cut, however it looks like it could be between him and MacDonald for the last spot and they’re giving MacDonald a last look.

Looking at those lines, and inserting Ryan, gives you:
the usual top 6
Mangiapane - Ryan - Lucic
Bennett - Jankowski - Rieder
that does not bode well for Bennett

There is no way Sam Bennett ends up playing 4th line. I suspect he will end up in the top 6 as the season goes on.

Why not sub in Dube for Bennett and let him watch a few games from above?

Im not totally convinced that Quine isn't being considered over Czarnik.
As the 13th guy he would save the club 300K on the cap IIRC. That could be valuable through the year in accumulating space for the deadline when they may be looking to really go for it depending on where they are in the standings, and more importantly, how they are playing after the mandated CBA break.
Otherwise, yup this is the lineup minus Ryan.

Who talks like that?
Their media is so very strange. He's not playing. That's fine. But no insert the fact that it wasn't his choice to make sure no one thinks he's what?
a) lazy?
b) scared?
c) hurt?
So strange.

I haven’t had the chance to watch much this preseason just the odd period in a handful of games. Heading down to the Dome for this one. Excited to see Tkachuk back with the team and ready for the games to be for real after tonight.

All I am saying is that Peters appears to be leaving the top 6 as is. And Mangiapane - Ryan - Lucic has been a pretty consistent fixture. That leaves what it leaves.
I am not criticizing Bennett, or suggesting he should be on the 4th line. I am merely saying that this is what it appears we are going to see to start the season.
And for Bennett, that sucks.
Feel free to post what you think Peters is going to go with, if you don't agree.
