Eddie Lack announces hiatus from pro hockey
https://twitter.com/user/status/1161750807835889664
In the meantime he'll be the goalie coach at Arizona State university.
Says he's been battling hip problems over the last six years.
At 31, I'm not sure there's any more NHL in his future, but hey, good luck anyways.

If you're a taco aficionado, Phoenix is a pretty good place to be.

Lack was so frustrating as a Flame. He was given a great opportunity and was TERRIBLE.

Hiatus implies a return to the NHL. Good one, Eddie.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

He was better in NJ, wasn't he?
I think he crumbled under the pressure when given a big chance here.

Hip problems later in life are pretty common for goaltenders. Rehabbing it to get back to a normal life is probably his main goal. in the meantime, he dips his foot into coaching.
Given his personality, I see him as pretty much as a goaltending coach. Head coaches have to be pretty intense. Probably why a no-BS guy like Bill Peters clashed with him.

Hip and groin injuries are among the most common locations for sports-related injuries in ice hockey players due to the specialized movements and physical nature of the sport. Goaltenders are at particular risk for hip injuries due to the unique demands of their position, particularly with the widespread use of the “butterfly style” technique, placement of the hip in extremes of motion during play, and the emphasis on repetition of skills.

Tough call. He only played 4 times here, 2 starts. So not a huge chance. But was awful so didn’t get a chance after 5 goals in just over a period vs Detroit
He only played 4 times in NJ too, also below avg but not as brutal

He complained when he didn't get a fair shake in his opinion from the Flames, so sounds like, from the way he got let go in Vancouver, Peters ripping him in Carolina, complaining here, and bounced out of NJ after a handful of games, teams clearly and certainly tire of him fairly quickly, that the happy go lucky aura is more for the cameras then as a sign of a "cool" teammate who has the actual respect of his teammates and coaches.

The Flames' pick used to draft Dustin Wolf was originally Carolina's and was an add-on to the Eddie Lack trade. Ryan Murphy was subsequently bought out and the 'Canes got Keegan Kanzig (ECHLer) and 2019 sixth-rounder Kevin Wall.
So basically, a Wall for Wolf trade going forward. Wall is headed to Penn State for the upcoming season.

Even though he was playing terribly, that Carolina incident was pretty uncool of Peters. I'd have a hard time not caving Peters' head in after that, let alone being motivated to play better. But maybe that's me. Everyone responds differently I guess.
