Celebrated Square Root Day
He seems like a defenseman version of Joe Colborne.

I don't know, but I think Juuso Vali maki will be an excellent defenseman for many years.

I look at him like Captain America, without the shield of course. Oh and he isn't American either, there is that.

This Finnish born defenceman was taken 16th overall in the 2017 NHL entry draft - both his first and last name are commonly spelt incorrectly.

He looks like he could be a Gio-lite.
He'll play PP, PK, he can play physical, put up some decent points.
I think he'll be the #1 d-man for the team for quite a few years.

Gio looked like Gio-lite at that age. Maybe not even that.

He will become our #1 dman in time.
Just watching him in the playoffs, he was exactly what the rest of the Flames weren't (outside of Bennett): he wasn't scared to make plays.
He was out there generating chances even if it meant he would be caught out of position if he messed it up and the puck went the other way. He wasn't playing tentative like the vets.
He has poise at such a young age and has the talent and instincts. He will be a great dman I'm sure of it.

Definitely not even that. Gio was at best a bubble player at that age, before he went to the KHL.

I remember him showing offensive flashes but not much physicality.

Juuso Valimaki is 20 years and 199 days old.
Mark Giordano signed his first contract with the Flames when he was 20 years and 277 days old.
If we're talking about comparing career trajectories, well, Valimaki is light years ahead. Of course, he'll have to catch up to Giordano's incredible improvement in his late-20s and early-30s, but as it stands, he's on a good pace.

He looked so composed for his age in the playoffs. Very exited to see him next season.

I won't predict how good he will be, but I am standing by my trade deadline comments: I would rather have him than Stone.

According to Treliving, Valimaki was the number one ask from other GMs.
Sometimes the best deals are the ones you don't make.
