The NHL City Edition Series (jerseys)
Probably won't get much traction during this part of the season, but I thought I'd share it nonetheless. Also apologies to Mods if this is in the wrong place, go ahead and move it to wherever is appropriate (I never make threads!)
It's another one from Reddit, and all credit must go to
react_and_respond . Whoever is behind that account, has designed each team a jersey that more represents their city, as opposed to just the team. They allude to the NBA who have just started doing this in recent years. Link
here to see them all individually.
Some cool designs in there. Me personally am a fan of 'out there' and alternative jerseys; my favourite Flames one of recent years is the Heritage Classic one (#34 on the back!). Could see the league adopting something like this in the near future, as it's a sure moneymaker (ala the 'blackout' jerseys that had a few years back).

For a couple games a season? I see no harm in it, and besides, our design at least on there is pretty damn good.

Personally I just don't like it very much. How visually stimulating is a Flaming cowboy hat?

Dear god, my eyes. There is not enough bleach in the world to unsee those designs.

Some of these are pretty cool, and while I am not a fan of the basic design of Flames's uniform here, what in the hell happened to the colours?

I like this, love seeing the continuity throughout the gear with some of those designs.

I would say maybe a handful of those are "decent" jerseys. Maybe 3 or 4 that are arguably better than their currents.
Most are just bad, including the Flames IMO.
Arizona
Carolina (only cuz their current is bad)
Colorado
NJ
Ottawa
SJ
Jets
Id say are the few that are as good or better than current kits. Anything glow-in-the-dark is just hilarious. Losing the Blues logo is a travesty.

Which is the Calgary one?
Is there a larger version picture?
I like the concept in the NBA, but these designs are terrible.

Calgary is the centre of cow country and the home of the biggest western event in Canada. Let's go full cowboy, make a uni based on a western shirt and flames and get weird.
I reject everything about this. I reject it on a fundamental level.

Other than Minnestoa and Nashville which are kinda cool, all of these make my eyes want to bleed.
The flames one could be cool as a third if it wasnt for the weird #### on the shoulders...

A) We did have a jersey based on a western shirt. I have one and the associated regrets.
B) I would be 100 percent in favor of Philly playing with a gritty jersey.
C) Edmonton's looks like a crappy rig suit, so...nailed it?

I only kinda like the Wild one. The Flames concept made me die a little bit inside.
The Oilers and Nucks ones are no-good enough that they both should adopt them full-time.
