Default Most likely success story

We all agree that for a team to succeed you need a lot of things to go right. Staying healthy, some surprise breakout(s), strong team chemistry, etc.

Of all the possible individual/line success stories this year - what do you think is the most likely?

1. Brodano dominant again
2. Hanifin-Hamonic 1b pair quality play
3. Valimaki calder consideration
4. Lindholm gels on dominant 1st line
5. Chucky closely trails Johnny in points, superstar status
6. Rittich emerges as heir apparent for starter role
7. Mangiapane gets 50 pts
8. Jankowski scores 25
9. Bennett gets 40 pts
10. Lazar gets 35 pts
11. Backlund wins the Selke
12. Johnny wins the hart
13. Peters wins the Jack Adams
14. Monahan scores 45, challenges Rocket Richard trophy
15. Foo 2nd line RW, scores 20
16. Dube makes team, top 9 regular.
17. Smith wins Vezina
18. Other!

What would be the most important to team success?

19. Alternate Captain Troy Brouwer returning to form and dominating on the top line with 25 goals & 40+ points!

Gaudreau - Monahan - Brouwer

I think Chucky will be second on team scoring with 70+ this season (although he'll still be 15 points back of Johnny).

From most to least likely:

1. Other!
2. Brodano dominant again
3. Hanifin-Hamonic 1b pair quality play
4. Lindholm gels on dominant 1st line

Everything else seems less likely

5. Bennett gets 40 pts
6. Chucky closely trails Johnny in points, superstar status
7. Rittich emerges as heir apparent for starter role
8. Valimaki calder consideration
9. Mangiapane gets 50 pts
10. Jankowski scores 25
11. Foo 2nd line RW, scores 20
12. Dube makes team, top 9 regular.
13. Backlund wins the Selke
14. Johnny wins the hart
15. Peters wins the Jack Adams
16. Monahan scores 45
17. Monahan scores 45, challenges Rocket Richard trophy

18. Smith wins Vezina

I think the Tkachuk storyline is most likely. He just seems to have "it". The good news is that if Tkachuk reaches superstar status, it probably means that at least one more storyline comes true as well (for example, Bennett gets 40 points).

Good idea for a thread.

Arena deal gets done ensuring Flames long term viability in the city.

EDIT: not necessarily the most likely but at the top of my wish list.

Bennett breaking out would boost this team so much. We need a player like who could become so bad to really complete our top 6.

All players at peak(Gaudreau,Monny, Lindholm ,Tkachuk ,Bennett and Backs) is scary good for a top 6.

Agreed, of the list I think this is most likely. And he'd better... Less than that and he's likely a trade piece barring injury.

Chucky & Brodano seem likely to me.
Everything else I expect to be pretty status quo and we may get into a wildcard spot.
This is all based on today's roster of course, and things can still change a lot before the season.

2 - I think theres a pretty decent chance that the Hanifin-Hamonic pair turns out to play quality minutes for the team. Hanifin is only going to continue to get better.

Not that I want to raise expectations, but I expect two huge turnarounds from Brodie and Bennett. I think a new system and coaching staff, coupled with some fresh faces on the team will help them get over their 'funk'.

I admit to be excited about the D pairings, and in particular if Brodie returns to form playing with Gio again.

I think Monahan scores 40 this year. 45 is a stretch, but I think 40 goals is very achievable.

[QUOTE=Bunk;6723847]We all agree that for a team to succeed you need a lot of things to go right. Staying healthy, some surprise breakout(s), strong team chemistry, etc.

Of all the possible individual/line success stories this year - what do you think is the most likely?

1. Brodano dominant again.....yes
2. Hanifin-Hamonic 1b pair quality play.....yes
3. Valimaki calder consideration.....can’t wait to see this guy and Andersson
4. Lindholm gels on dominant 1st line....dream come true
5. Chucky closely trails Johnny in points, superstar status.....this can happen.
6. Rittich emerges as heir apparent for starter role.....Gillies will play saviour!!
7. Mangiapane gets 50 pts .....here on Stockton??
8. Jankowski scores 25......Jankowski scores 20 G , 30 Assts
9. Bennett gets 40 pts
10. Lazar gets 35 pts.....don’t see it. Love it if it happened.
11. Backlund wins the Selke.....love to see this happen , his line mates have to be awesome for this to happen.
12. Johnny wins the hart.....just needs to be consistent for now.
13. Peters wins the Jack Adams.....it’d be nice to see
14. Monahan scores 45, challenges Rocket Richard trophy....I see big things for a healthy Monahan this year.
15. Foo 2nd line RW, scores 20......love to see this.
16. Dube makes team, top 9 regular......this would be incredible.
17. Smith wins Vezina.....just win baby and stay healthy.
18. Other!

What would be the most important to team success?

This team needs to play like a team.

I don’t want guys skating away from scrums, I want to see them just skate into the scrum and do nothing but draw penalties and make the opponent PAY Hard by getting scored on with our top 10 POwerplay.

I feel we are going to see career best numbers from half the roster this year.

If we can be disciplined, play full games and just compete night in and night out and build some confidence early this team can do what Vegas did which no one saw coming.

Go Flames Go

#1 The Flames show up for the 1st period. Biggest challenge for Peters is to have them ready to play right from the start of the game. Win the first period!!

Everyone is bigger faster and makes better plays with a lead.

They had a lead after the first in just 23 games ... they won 16 of these games. They were chasing games for the whole season. The fancy possession stats will be a lot worse but games won will go up a lot

#2 The Flames team defense and goalies let in 20 less goals.
