Default October 8 with four games.

It's a statutory holiday in Canada and the USA and that means matinee games with 2 of them being morning/matinee games in the Pacific and Mountain timezones. Forget about Baileys and coffee or tea, it's all about turkey and beer! Happy Thanksgiving to all of you on Calgarypuck. Free preview on Centre Ice still happening.

Dzingel with 2 goals so far today. He'll be an interesting player to watch this season coming off a prodictive 23 Goal 41 point season and due for a new contract extension.

VGK is down 4-1 in the late second period to Buffalo, and have only one S/O win in their first two games. This looks like it could be a difficult season for the Knights—certainly more difficult than last year.

They don't have the element of surprise anymore. Teams are ready for them.

There is a lot more to it than that. Last year the perfect storm of the excitement in LV of the arrival of their first major league professional sports team combined with how the Mandala Bay mass shooting in the first week of the season forged a seemingly unstoppable “us v. the world” mentality. Teams were ready for VGK by mid-season last year already when they had a commanding lead in the Pac Div. But the emotional and psychological conditions that contributed to how that team played are impossible to replicate.

Teams are also trying to imitate the LV style of play.

Jack Eichel has a good start to the season and scored a pair of goals in the Sabres 4-2 win. Carter Hutton looks to be the primary goalie for Buffalo as he has been in net for all three games this season.

I think a better explanation is that they're without their best defenseman, who was suspended 20 games for PED.

Nice to see Vegas falling back to earth.

Do Sharks fans start panicking yet?

It's been a good OOT so far, go Wings!
