I can't believe there hasn't been a thread about this week's episode of Lost.
Probably the best episode ever. Finally some answers! Of course they give you more questions than answers, but that was a great episode.
Anyone see it?
Thoughts? Comments?

Best episode? Not too sure. Craziest episode? Probably.
I thought the film they watched looked a little... contrived. Especially when the guy paused before saying '... incident'. No idea where they're taking the show from here.

Apparently Jin speaks English as well. Next episode he is supposed to reveal that.
What is the deal with those people that took Michael, Sawyer, and Jin captive?
I don't think they are the others, I think they are the people from the tail section of the plane and they got that sickness that the others had. Turned them all into savages. I have a feeling the big black guy from the savages is that black ladies husband from the first few episodes. When she was on the beach after the crash saying "I know my husband is still alive", apparently he was in the tail section of the plane.
|
They could be from the tail-section of the plane... but that doesn't make sense (unless, indeed, they are going crazy from sickness). They also don't seem like the others though either... maybe people from the French woman's group?
As for the black guy, I doubt he's her husband. She seems 50, he seems 30. It also looked kind of like it was Adebesi from Oz, which would be interesting since Walt's dad is the wheel-chair narrator from the same show.

That girl they threw in the hole with Michael and Sawyer was the same girl that Jack was talking to in the airport bar in an earlier episode as well. I couldn't believe she took the gun and double crossed them. I didn't see that coming at all. After seeing that however that is when I thought that they weren't the others at all and they are just from the tail section of the plane.
|
Really? I thought they were different people. I recognize the hole-chick, she's a semi-famous actress (Resident Evil I think), but I don't believe she's the same as the one Jack talked to in the Airport, could be wrong though.

Nope, shes' the same one from the airport, Michelle Rodriguez. It was revealed she was going to be in this season's episode's. I remember discussing it here.
You guys didn't see that double cross coming? She said she was on her own for the whole time? 44 days and she's still fully alive, I was thinking to myself "YA FOR SURE BUDDY". Kinda saw the double cross coming.
That show provided some answers but made us ask another 12 questions.
Such a GREAT show.

Yep. She is the one Jack was flirting with and talking to in the airport bar before he got on the plane. Remember they were chatting and she said something about her seat was way in the back of the plane?
She also showed up in some of the other flashbacks in the airport.
Her name in Real Life is Michelle Rodriguez.

My first reaction when seeing the film was that the show jumped the shark -- wasn't impressed at all.
However one thing to note is that after rewatching the film portion a couple of times I'm pretty clear parts have been edited out -- some of the jumps in the narration can't be explained simply by bad audio masking a word or two -- so we may not actually know what we think we do.
As for the people holding Michael et al, my money is definately on them being the people from the tail section, and chances are they're paranoid either because they're sick or because they've has run-ins with the actual others.
Finally, don't forget to visit the Hanso Foundation website to learn a little about the scientists from the film.

Very intersting episode. Answered question and yet didnt.
Still dont know what the countdown is for nor what the Compound is for.
I to think they folks that captured Sawyer and friends are from the Tail section. they are keeping an eye on Sawyers group because I think they suspect they are part of the others.
I could see both groups hooking up in the next few weeks.
Was kinda miffed they did not show where the other exit was from the Hatch. would have been intersting to see where it comes out.
still pretty good show.
on a side note Jack was sure annoying that espisode. Guy just cant let things go and has to be in charge.. Calm down buddy...

To me those jumps seem like the film has been spliced together in parts.
Some of you may be too young when we had films in school, but many of the old ones we had; they had been spliced together and sometimes the naration would take a funny turn.
The best part; living in Winnipeg, the films we had that were 20 years old were still accurate.

Spliced together, edited out -- same thing
Some of the parts that don't fit:
"... pursue research in meteorology, psychology, parapsychology, zoology, electromagnetism, and utopian social [audio skip] reclusive Danish industrialist and [something] magnate Alvar Hanso whose financial backing..."
"... from the time the alarm sounds you'll have four minutes to enter the code into the microcomputer processor [audio skip] -duction into the program. When the alarm sounds..."
"... and to do not attempt to use the computer [audio skip] Congratulations, until your replacements arrive the future of the project is in your hands."
