Major Ruckus Happening on QE2

Apparently tactical units, HAWCS, CPS, 4 EMS units, FIRE, sharpshooters, K9 units all on scene. Heard conflicting reports that it's at the rest stop on the SB side of QE2 just north of Airdrie but also heard it's at the gas stations/stores on the NB side where Humpty's etc is.

Yikes, I drove by there twice today (gave a friend a ride to Red Deer and drove back). Thankfully I made it home before then.

BREAKING: One man sent to hospital after reports of shots fired along hwy 2 south of hwy 72- Airdrie RCMP, CPS, HAWCS still on scene.

One man has been taken to hospital with a gunshot wound after shots were fired in Rocky View County.

Airdrie RCMP are on scene at Dickson Stevenson Rest Stop along Highway 2, just south of Highway 72. The public is being asked to stay clear of the area. A lone suspect is believed to be on the loose.

A Calgary police helicopter, RCMP Police Dog Services and the RCMP Emergency Response Team are assisting Airdrie RCMP on scene. The call came in just before 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, according to RCMP. EMS transported the victim to Foothills Medical Centre to be treated for his injuries.

Caused quite a back up on the highway from the sounds of things, but apparently that has eased up now.
