Former Flame. Signed for one more year after this one at $2.1 million per. Interested to see if he lands anywhere.

Not with that contract. Trade with retained salary is my guess

Probably a better defender than Edmonton just paid to acquire.

I'd imagine so too. Montreal can likely afford to retain. At $1.05 million, I could see him being a guy perhaps on Treliving's radar, considering his familiarity with the player and his apparent desire to add a left-shooting depth defenseman.

Would prefer more physicality If we are bringing a guy in. I don't see a fit.

He does have that deadly SO maneuver - the Schlemcat!

Meh, Prout and Hamonic are physical enough for me. I like my depth guys to have a little skill and have good puck-possession stats, and he has both of those attributes.

I like Schlemko a lot, easily a much better 6th/7th than Prout, but not at that price tag. 50% retention and he might have some value.

He had one more for the Flames, three nights later against Ottawa. He missed, but I remember it as being a different move and he almost had it for the win. I couldn't find video for it though. It was March 8th, 2015 in a 5-4 loss to Ottawa (the game the Flames came back from 4-0 in the third).

Omg. Chia can’t win. Exactly the type of D they need.

I think at half retained he is the perfect depth add for us.

Did Kulak really take his spot? I’m pretty surprised by that

He'd be perfect if not for being under contract next year.

Holland isn’t a great GM but if you are getting a deadline rental from him prepare to get absolutely bent over

Also Kronwall wouldn't be depth. Depth sits in the press box and waits. Kronwall would bump a rookie.

What is wrong with that? I would rather have Kronwall and his experience back there come playoff time than Kylington.
