Default NHL looking at Frolik hit on Chychrun

https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/1519941

Did it look bad to you?

I'm torn. It seems like a fairly innocent play, but I'm not sure why he only targeted the right leg of Chychrun. Was it just a lazy check or deliberate?

Lazy and undisciplined, but not malicious.

Well... I'd definitely call it a slew foot. No idea whether he did it deliberately or not, it's Frolik in a meaningless game so I'm more inclined to think accidentally but that hardly makes a difference.

I drove the Coyote's team bus last night, even after a big win the bus was dead silent.
They were not happy with the hit, I'll leave it at that.

After Marchand got a fine for trying to remove a few teeth...I could see Frolik getting 10 games...

in other words...

Who freaking knows.

How would you know if it was dead silent?

The ride to the airport. Like I said, was driving their bus.

Yeah it was a slew foot, which went penalized, but it was also three players all coming together so I don't know how you can attribute it 100% to Frolik.

At the game, I felt it was absolutely a slew foot and should have been a major.

Not malicious, but lazy, and very stupid.

If the bus was dead slient it implies no words were spoken, so how would you know they weren't impressed with the hit?

Way to ruin the joke. Maybe they were quiet because you sucked the fun out of the bus?

I don’t see any reason for punishment beyond the in game punishment that was given.

It's a Flames player, so I'd say 5 games.
Honestly, it did not look malicious at all. I thought it was an accidental trip and the majority of the damage came from Brouwer falling on top of him afterwards.

If the Coyotes were so upset about the hit, they had two whole periods to go after Frolik.

Nothing else to see here except NHL Officiating continues to be a joke.

I was at the game so I only saw the replay once on the jumbotron.

I was surprised it wasn't a major. It sure seemed like a distinct kicking motion from behind. Also surprised no one went after Frolik.

The minute I saw it during the game I thought it was a sloughfoot. Intentional or not, that's a play that's incredibly dangerous, especially near the boards. I have no issue at all with Frolik getting a game or two suspension for it.

The problem I had was that it could have been easily avoided, but he didn't make an attempt to move his leg out of the way and just carried through and took out Chychrun. If it's not intentional, it's at the very least incredibly negligent, and it definitely deserves to be looked over.

Slew foots usually involve forcing the upper body backwards at the same time.

This was just a standard trip. Unfortunate injury but I don't see how it's more than a minor penalty.

If they really want to punish him they should force him to sit through the RSN broadcasts of the last 17 Flames games from beginning to end. That may be too cruel of punishment though as I wouldn’t wish this on anyone except maybe Oilers fans although they are conditioned for garbage hockey.

Lucic got a 2 min penalty for punching a goalie in the back of the head

Really I don't even care but much worse has happened without suspension
