Flames Flames recall Spencer Foo. Will debut against the Oilers

https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/flam...?tid=282300716

Quote:
The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled forward Spencer Foo from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League.

Foo, a native of Edmonton, Alberta, was signed by the Calgary Flames this past off-season as a college free agent on Jul. 27, 2017. The Union College product is having a strong first professional season with the Stockton Heat notching 20 goals and 17 assists for 37 points in 59 games. Foo is third on the Heat in scoring and second in goals, just one behind Andrew Mangiapane (21). The 23-year-old scored his first professional hat trick on December 6, 2017 in a 6-0 routing of the San Jose Barracuda.

That would be the last regular recall for the Flames.

They can only call up if it is emergency conditions now.

Will be good to see him against the Oilers. The team will need something that night.

He's been playing well as of late.

8 goals and 13 points in his last 14 games

Super duper! I wonder what number he'll wear. He wore #15 in training camp but Glass wears that now (he wore #51 in camp)

Kind of neat that his first professional game will be against the Oilers who also courted him.

It's gonna be sweet watching him waste away on a line with Brouwer.

I would hope we see Stewart and Glass versus the Oilers. Just in case Lucic, Kassian, Nurse, etc get feisty.

Hope Foo takes someone else's spot.

If Foo has a great game against the Oil I’ll consider the entire season redeemed.

Interesting to me they did this now.

Stockton is in the thick of a playoff race that sees them hanging on by a thread to make it. They are playing meaningful games this weekend which is great for young guys...the Flames? Not so much.

Not sure why the Flames need Foo at this point, it's not like he can truly show what he can do with the lineup as thin as it is.

Bit of a carrot to those that paid money to attend tonight however, so there is a bit of a reason.

I wouldn't go that far but beating the Oilers with Foo scoring the winning goal would certainly make things much brighter around here. At least I hope that would be the case.

Seems to me though there's still no official word that this call-up means Johnny won't be back tonight. Ideally I don't think they would have pulled Foo away from the AHL team which needs him more.

Good for Foo. Now watch him score 2 goals and 2 assists and everyone to call him a bust when he doesn't repeat that every game following. That is the normal way of things around here.
