I might be flying out to Philly next week.....anyone ever been there? Anything I should check out while there (besides a Flyers/Eagles game)?

There for 3 days (Wed-Fri), so if anyone has any suggestions let me know!!

I was there a long time ago. The old comedian WC Fields was from there and part of his shtick was making jokes about hating Philadelphia. On his gravestone is written " All things considered, I'd rather be in Philadelphia". Maybe some interesting historical places. When I was there in the fall it was still like summer. Not much help, sorry.

was there a few years back on a quick biz trip.
Was taken to a Chinese eatery called...Sang Kee I think...very very good.

The Bell..Liberty style of course...someone cracked the damned thing though!

There is a place that sells the ORIGINAL Philly Steak and Cheese...in a market, but I cant remember the name. Tasty.

And as you mentioned..if any of the sports teams are around check em out.

The rest of my stay was in an office boardroom.

Like Cheese, my stay was quick and all work. I did manage to go to where they "invented" the cheesesteak for lunch one day. But....there were two places, on opposing corners, who both saidd they were the original! I was so confused!!

Gee, sounds like a fun place. It was on amazing race last night night as well, maybe I should go check out the historical civil war areas.......woo.

Maybe I'll fly into NY instead, check out a game at MSG. I think the Habs play the Rangers that night.

Might want to pick up the October issue of National Geographic Travel magazine before your trip...

Quick bump...

Going to NY next Thursday, taking the train to Philly Fri morning and returning the same day. Just got my tickets to a Rangers/Atlanta game Sat night. $40 seats so I'm assuming they suck but oh well.

I was going to pick up tix to a Philly/Pitt game Thursday night, but all I could find was $170 ea (US) club seats so that was quickly crossed off the list. That and I don't want to stay long in Philly, I'd rather check out NY for a few days (maybe track down Paris if she's in town).

Sweeeeeet, I've never been the East Coast before!!!!
