I think Versteeg will do wonders for Jankowski. He's a guy that's very dynamic on a rush and in the zone and can slow the game down for a guy like Jankowski who's creative but struggling with the speed of the NHL.

Lazar in for Versteeg until he's healthy and rotate, I guess.
Stajan for Shore too at times.

I don't think a demotion to the 4th line for Ferland sends a good message. He's done everything and more that has been asked of him... I like him on the 3rd and Bennett on the 1st for now. If Ferland doesn't produce on that 3rd line, then I think you could demote him further... I don't mind that bottom 6 though.

Yeah you have a point with Steeger, and Ferland does seem to have certain chemistry with Stajan.
This is just me putting all the silverbacks on one line (lol). Could see things going your way though if their offense doesn't materialize.

Honestly, I would go a bit wild with the lines, I really like the idea of:
Tkachuk-Monahan-Versteeg
Gaudreau-Bennett-Ferland
as your top six. Maybe swap the centers depending on stuff.
Then for a bottom six/seven/eight or whatever:
Jankowski-Backlund-Frolik
Lazar/Mangiapane (rotate the two)-Stajan-Shore
If you need to bring in Stewart or Brouwer to the lineup, sit Stajan and move Shore to center.

Versteeg is probably a month away from full game shape. Assuming that:
Ferland/Bennett - Jankowski - Shore
Hathaway - Stajan - Stewart
Once Versteeg is in game form plug him in as needed.
