Default Bruce Hood , referee, passes away at 81

didn't see a thread on this

harkens back to the days when many of the referees were well known to most viewers of the game. certainly called a lot of key games in my childhood

was surprised to see he wasn't in the HHOF

RIP Bruce. Will always remember him calling game 7 of the 1981 quarterfinals against the Flyers. He didn't let the Flyers get away with any of their crap and the Flames prevailed by a score of 4-1 to advance to the semi-finals against the North Stars.
