Default WJC Day 3: FIN-DEN, RUS-SUI, SWE-CZE, and USA-SVK

Day 3.
Canada and Belarus have the night off after playing back to back in the first two days.

TSN 1/2/3/4/5, tsn.ca, TSN Go should have all the games.

10 AM MT Finland vs Denmark

Denmark was embarrassed in their opening match up with a 9-0 loss to the Americans. Hopefully some questionable officiating in the game against Canada doesn't cause Finland to go into a downward spiral. If Finland loses this game, not only would it be an upset, questions about WTF is going on with their program will be asked.

As of posting Finland still only has registered 12 forwards and 7 defenceman, which means they have only allocated 19 of their 20 skater spots for this tournament. Tuulola and E. Rasanen are still waiting word on which of them gets to play in the tournament.

Valimaki #6 for Finland
Tuulola #19 for Finland (if he plays)

12 pm MT Russia vs Switzerland
Russia was upset by the Czechs on day 1. Switzerland barely beat Belarus. Should be Russia's game.

2pm MT Sweden vs Czech
The Czechs have a decent team this year so should be a good test for Sweden. Pettersson was sick yesterday and missed practice, so that could be a factor. It looks like Lindstrom between Nylander and Pettersson will continue.

Lindstrom leads the tournament in faceoff %. Going 11 for 11 on day 1.

Lindstrom will wear #16 for Sweden

6pm MT USA vs Slovakia
Slovakia had a horrible showing against Canada yesterday and Flames prospect Ruzicka did not look good. Hoping for a bounce back game for Ruzicka.

If Slovakia doesn't get their sh*t together expect the Americans to blow them out like they did Denmark.

Fox will wear #8 for USA
Ruzicka will wear #21 for Slovakia

Poor Slovakia. Start the Tournament by playing Canada and the US.

Denmark being outshot 33-4 against Finland but only down 2-1 in the second.

Valimaki with an assist for Finland

The Finnish PP looks about as good as the Flames.

Also, I've never seen a team throw as many hits while on the PK as the Czechs

"Fox finds Tkachuk for a one timer" is a phrase being said by Ferraro but I hope we will hear in Calgary for years to come.

Very dominant. He is going to make a team very happy. Hopefully not Vancouver.

ANDREAS JC EKLUND @JAC_EKLUND
The Slovak word for Fox is Liska. Today we have Adam Fox vs Adam Liska on ice.

Depending on who gets the pick for Brady, I'd give most anything to draft him.

Just found out that tomorrow's Canada/US game is an outdoor game at New Era Field (Buffalo Bills). The article I read talked about how embarrassing the lack of ticket sales for this game are.

Looking at ticketmaster though, it looks like there's a few thousand unsold but over 70k available. I'd call 65k fans for a world junior game a huge success, especially relative to every other world junior game in the last few years.

That is weird. I could see complaining about the lack of fans at the indoor games, but that would be a giant crowd for the outdoor game.
