Default XXL Cargo Bags

Hey, CP'ers, need help.

I am looking for an extra-extra large duffel-type cargo bag to pack lots of beach stuff (folding chairs, umbrella, beach towels, etc.). I will need to check the bag in, so it needs to be very lightweight.

Something cheap and cheerful, like this $4 IKEA Fracta bag pictured below, but twice bigger; 48"-50" would be ideal.

I've seen people at the airports carrying really ugly-looking hideously-colored large cargo bags made from something like vinyl or similar material. They would do too. I have no idea where to get them or how to search for them.

How about a hockey duffle bag. Won’t be cheap though, unless you can find a used one

Thanks. I have a hockey bag, it's heavy by itself already. I need something that weighs almost nothing. like those bags in the photos.

What about a tree storage bag? You will have to google.
I just realized I do not know how to attach an image on mobile.

Great idea! And only $20. Thanks. Do you have one of those? Do you think it can handle 20-30lbs of weight in it?

I also found a 50-inch long military tactical canvas bag for $40.

Probably easier to dispose of a dead body in a tarp in the countryside then to fly it somewhere

That is an utterly offensive suggestion! [Please PM me for details]...

I'm curious to where you are going that you can't buy/rent these items or they aren't provided?

It's Russian luggage. You see this #### on every flight into or out of a FSU country.

We're not going to a hotel or resort. Renting is expensive over there, $40US/day. Regardless. we do have all this stuff, and it's good quality. Why not take it with us and use it; if it's not gonna cost us anything extra.

P.S. Bought the tree bag on amazon for $20. Will see how good it is. I hope it's made out of the same material as construction tarps.

I remember a buddy who didnt have luggage the first time he needed it. What he did have was old school paper grocery bags and duct tape. Voila, silver luggage.

In my travels I've heard it referred to as "Kiwi Samsonite"

There is actually a definition for the nylon bags. They are all over asia and used for everything from carrying goods to sleeping on and as construction materials. No idea where to get them here though.

Searched "woven polypropylene storage" and got lots of these bags in huge sizes, like this one. Cool!

NSFW!

Do you expect to not get charged an oversize bag fee? Youre worried about the weight of the bag but the size is going to get you as well. Air Canada's oversize bag fee is $100. So $200 plus tax round trip.

Is there a Walmart, dollar store, or other discount retailer where you are going? You could buy some cheap stuff that would be sufficient for the week and then leave it behind or donate it. Sounds like less hassle to make a stop to pick up this and other stuff you might need for the week rather than hauling that bag around with you. Id also be worried about how your folding chairs and beach umbrella are going to survive as checked baggage in a plastic tree bag even if you bubble wrap it.

Under 50" in length and under 50lbs in weight qualifies as standard luggage.
