What's your no trade list look like?
The talk on the trade rumour thread had me thinking where I'd want to play or not if I was an NHL'er...a big lol in itself. Part of me thinks if I was fortunate enough to play, that I should just suck it up and let management decide. But I'm going to play prima donna here and submit my list.
Because I'm shunning media attention, and recognition as much as possible, my list would reflect that for the most part.
1) All Canadian cities. Sorry Canada, I love you but want no part of that scene.
2) Minnesota
3) Buffalo
4) Colorado
5) Detroit
6) New York...either team. A certain amount of anonymity likely, but I'm not sure I'd want to live in the New York City area. I guess that would probably include New Jersey too, unless they have a kick ass team, or maybe willing to pay me the moon!
I'd probably be good to go for the rest of them. I might end up on some crap teams, but making a good living, and wandering around town like an ordinary joe would probably be worth it to me. I fully understand why many players wouldn't want to play up here. It's just a good thing they're not all like that.
How bout the rest of you prima donnas?

Anything north of Nashville. Why be cold if you don't have to be?

Edmonton (worst run franchise in sports)
Arizona (broke, constant relocation talk)
Montreal (worst media ever)
Winnipeg, (just the location)
Carolina (same as Arizona)
Vancouver (riots)
Vegas (will be in the same boat as Arizona in a few years)
Buffalo (giving Edmonton a serious contender for that worst run franchise title)

Assuming it's a 10 team list, which seems to be common:
Edmonton
Winnipeg
Montreal
Ottawa
Toronto
Buffalo
Columbus
Detroit
Colorado
Minnesota
The first 8 teams on my list were quite easy. I had to think hard about Colorado and Minnesota. I'd say there's 8 teams I'd never play for (if I was a UFA sand could choose), two I would prefer not to, and the rest I'd be pretty open to.

11 posts in and nobody said Florida. I'm thankful for that.

Edmonton and Winnipeg probably my only ones honestly.
I would say Phoenix, but their eventual location is probably decent (Seattle is my guess).

People concerned with weather realize that you spend half of the season on the road and can live wherever they want in the off season, right?

If I was told that I have the ability to play in the NHL but it has to be with Edmonton (the worst of all hockey teams on the planet) I would jump at the chance!
It’s the NHL.. can’t tell me anyone on CP wouldn’t jump at the chance if they love playing hockey. You’re still making minimum $600k/yr.

I read this thread as if I was a proven NHLer with a "no trade list" ie; good enough to be signed with a perk like a NTL.
But I completely agree with what you are saying.

All Canadian cities, Calgary may be one of the tops, as the arena ####e is bad.
All east coast teams, Phoenix, Vegas
