Shannon Burgess - Missing
I haven't seen anything on CP about this, so I thought I'd start something up, as this seems to have taken a creepy turn for the worst.
Shannon was reported missing on December 1st, and hasn't been seen in over 3 weeks. Fish & Wildlife found a photo attached to a tree in Fish Creek Park, believed to be her. Since then, another photo has been found.
Quote:
Calgary police have spent two days scouring Fish Creek Park after the discovery of macabre photos attached to trees.
Multiple sources told the Sun the investigation is related to the disappearance of 25-year-old Shannon Burgess, who was last seen nearly three weeks ago.
“Crime scene units have spent the last two days in the park looking for clues,” said a source.
The investigation launched after two photographs of a woman were found attached to trees in Fish Creek Park, sources said.

Very bizarre development. I vaguely heard about it on the radio this morning but they must have misspoke as they mentioned she went missing 3 years ago. I also hope she shows up safe.

I grew up in Woodbine and would bike/hike through Fish Creek Park probably 2-3 times/week. Could you imagine a kid coming across these pictures?
Makes me sick - both the act and the public display of these pictures.
Like CC said, hoping for the best but fearing the worst.

Maybe I'm missing something obvious....they found pictures of her posted on trees in the park. Weren't the pictures the same ones circulating within the media?
Regardless, hopefully she is ok.

Did you read the article? The first line is talking about "macabre photos attached to trees".

They found photos of a woman. It isn't confirmed they're of her yet.

On Global this morning, they mentioned that the photos were of a masked woman, though the above article mentions her face was obscured by flowers and her hair.
Unfortunately, it sounds very similar to True Detective.

Sounds like the makings of an episode of Luther or Hannibal.

Cops now say those mysterious photos in Fish Creek Park were part of an art project, unrelated to the disappearance of Shannon Burgess.

That's art?
And I hope the "artist" gets a bill for a complete waste of police resources...

How is it the artists fault the police had to investigate this? It's just bad timing.
That said, yes- it's a strange art project.

An "artist" randomly decided to post what were described as macabre pictures in Fish Creek?
Seems quite strange to me...

In my daughter grade 3 class one of her classmates drew a picture of slender man for the art project for Halloween. They were suppose to make up a monster and give it a story. All the other kids drew silly drawings like a grade three would then there was the slender man one. I guess the teacher never heard of the story because she hung it up in the hall for all to see during my last parent teacher interview.

Artists can be pretty sick and twisted people. They do weird stuff.

Could have been a simple matter of them forgetting to take the pictures down...
