Your talk of Janko and the possibillity of 2nd line centre makes me wonder what Tree will do at the deadline.

I love Backs, but no way can this team let him walk at the end of the year. Will it be a distraction in February if he is still unsigned??

I dont want him traded, but can we afford him? Tough decission for Tree, guess its a good one to have though.

I don't see the Flames having enough depth to let Backlund walk and Janko slide up.

Bennett hasn't progressed enough where you feel comfortable doing that. This team would be awfully thin up the middle without Mikael Backlund.

I don't see how the Flames trade Backlund during a contending year given Bennett's performance to date and Jankowski's inexperience even if he wow's between now and then. Assuming Backlund signs for a reasonable contract and continues to play well he would be very movable if/when the time comes.
