I'm guessing Smith called him out and he's likely filling out a feelings hurt report and will be out a few days.

Of all the things Versteeg has had hurt, feelings is not on that list.

I'm guessing Versteeg was scratched partially because of that horrific giveaway by Stone in the Stars' game where Versteeg looked terrible on that play too.

Versteeg gave Stone no outlet option despite the fact he was there to be one, but instead of his stick being on the ice, he had it up in the air and, sure enough, the puck slid by his stick.

Versteeg looks like he's quit on quite a few plays the past few games in addition to those wonderful no look backhanded passes he makes. Wouldn't shock me if the play against Dallas was the last straw that earned him a game off. Also wouldn't shock me if he was nursing an injury that was slowing him down giving me the impression he was quitting on plays.

I'm leaning towards the former.
