Default Investing Resources

(I recently performed an epic bump of another financial based thread on Stock portfolio tools, but thought we could use a general thread on investing that I could not find in a search here)

I was recently gifted "Your Money's Worth" by local author/financial advisor Shamez Kassam
https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06W5WN858/...ng=UTF8&btkr=1

Enjoying it thus far. Now got me thinking of what else is out there in terms of resources: links, apps, podcasts, other books, etc.

I found the following in a Reddit thread:

Books
(in addition to the above mentioned, Canadian specific book)

Stocks for the Long Run by Jeremey Siegel
- There is nothing particularly special about this book, but if you're new to investing then it's a nice entry point because he covers the basics of most asset classes, macro/micro economic factors, and presents some important historical data that you should be aware of.

The Most Important Thing by Howard Marks - I strongly recommend reading this once you have a grasp of the basics. It's a relatively short book and Marks is one of the most successful investors. He presents an investing philosophy that you can apply generally and he adjusts your perception of what risk and price mean. If you want to outperform the market then applying these principals is certainly a valid path to success.

Global Asset Allocation by Meb Faber
- A quick read (and free if you give up an email address), and covers some essential styles of asset allocation. Any investor should read this but I think it's essential reading once you've built a significant amount of wealth and want to optimize growth and risk.

Podcasts

Invest Talk - Daily radio-show style podcast run by two value-oriented investors who really do a great job of speaking frankly about their investment approach; lots of great beginner information.
The Disciplined Investor - Solid weekly market commentary by Horowitz and usually decent interviews

The Meb Faber Show - Author of Global Asset Allocation; he covers a lot of different asset classes and investment strategies (and of course asset allocation comes up frequently). For whatever reason momentum investing is a frequent topic as well.

Adventures in Finance - Great interviews with investing veterans and usually a healthy dose of reality about how unprecedented current market conditions are.

Thoughts on the above resources? Any additions, subtractions?
For instance, I've had Stockhouse website recommended to me.

Many thanks.

I subscribe to Stockreversals and TippingPoint Stocks both paid and run by the same guy, but the results are excellent.

(edit) to add I might drop the Stockreversals subscription and just keep TippingPoint Stocks as I just dont have the time anymore.

Stockscores is hands down the best learning tools for people who want to trade for a living or seriously manage their own portfolio. The guy is from Calgary and is at the top of his game now. His book The Mindless Investor is one you could add to the list. But the education and tools he provides is really second to none. The site itself is not super helpful, like the actual stockscores are somewhat meaningless to me. The scanner is great but not real time and not what you need if you're trading with a real time charting/scanning platform.

It's easy to get bogged down in stock info. You kind of have to figure out what you want...a stock picking service, a communal twitter like chat, fundamental trading, technical trading, education. You can get scattered and paralyzed with too much info.

This is kind of an interesting source...

This guy has been plugging away for ages. There is a strategy there for sure, just not sure it's that helpful. Worth seeing how other people do it in real time though.

Jason Calacanis - Angel is a solid book, joining his syndicate has been entertaining.

What I learned losing a million dollars is a great book that makes the distinction between speculators, traders and investors.

Are you folks looking only for resources related to arms length, high liquidity stock trading / investing?

^SeeGeeWhy: I've purposely kept it general, so whatever you'd like to share would be great.
I'll try and update the OP as time allows.
